Coming back with curiosity
More than a decade ago, I performed in China for factory workers, families, managers and company directors while my manager and I explored the possibility of a breakthrough in Chinese television. It remained a possibility rather than a confirmed role, but the experience stayed with me.
I loved the food and culture. I am returning with curiosity: to listen, learn more and build genuine connections before deciding what a useful collaboration could become.

I perform and present comfortably in Swedish, Portuguese, Spanish and English. For a China engagement, interpretation, translated materials and local context can be agreed with the host; Chinese-language delivery is not offered.
A professional Neuromagic show can stand alone or connect naturally to a lecture and a deeper workshop in IFDM: Impromptu Full-Deck Memorisation. Companies, conferences, private-event producers, cultural venues, magic clubs and learning partners are welcome to discuss the right format.

The underground magician resurfaces
Nearly two decades under the radar, but never away from the craft
I kept exploring, practising and quietly combining magic with memory, psychology, music, sport and human connection. When I eventually stepped back into a magic community in Moscow, the warmth of the response surprised me. The President of the Russian Association of Illusionists encouraged me to return and share more with professional magicians. It felt like a call to resurface.
A Lennart Green memory
“But Lennart, it is your fake shuffle.”
Before a lecture at the Gothenburg Magic Club, I was running through one of Lennart Green’s false shuffles. Lennart was sitting across from me, watching closely. Suddenly, he leaned over the table and asked, “Was that a fake shuffle?” I replied, “But Lennart, it is your fake shuffle. You invented it!” Everyone around the table laughed.
Lennart is definitely one of the greatest influences on my magical career. In my early years back home, we met a few times for fika, the Swedish ritual of coffee and unhurried conversation, and exchanged ideas, especially “magician foolers.” We managed to fool each other with some of our best tricks. Those were once-in-a-lifetime moments that have stayed with me ever since.
Where Neuromagic draws energy
A creative meeting place
My Neuromagic draws energy from psychology and performance, memory systems and sleight of hand, music theory and jazz, sport and embodied learning, the Flower of Life as a visual metaphor, Paul Stamets’s writing and talks on mycelial networks, and Graham Hancock’s journalistic work and storytelling. These creative references and questions helped lay the foundation for my style of magic.
Artists such as Derren Brown and David Blaine expanded my sense of what modern magic could communicate. I have also had the pleasure of meeting and watching Lennart Green, Dani DaOrtiz, Juan Tamariz and René Lavand up close, and of exchanging ideas with some of them. Each encounter left a different trace.

Why are there relatively few full performance videos online?
This is intentional. Much of the magic and interaction is designed to be experienced live; showing too much in advance can weaken both the surprise and the human connection in the room.
How can an organisation learn more before inviting Rufus?
Begin with a direct conversation about the audience, aims and possible format. Many past opportunities have grown through personal experience, word of mouth and trust rather than a large online highlight reel.

Arctic surfing reminds me to prepare carefully, respect the environment and still step into the unknown. Sport, nature, recovery and adventure can create space for deeper attention and better decisions.
I am excited to return to China with fewer assumptions and more willingness to listen, learn and explore what can be built through respectful, practical collaboration.
